Missing Child Was Being Sexually Abused By Maryland Man: Police

A man from Maryland has been arrested on and charged for sexually abusing a missing child out of Long Island, according to Maryland State Police.

Kelvin Emanuel Grandados-Sorto, 27, of Greenbelt, is being held without bail on charges of sexual abuse of a minor and a third-degree sex offense for allegedly abusing a child he knew, according to police.

Police in Suffolk County, New York, were searching for the missing child, believed to be with Grandados-Sorto, when they contacted MDSP on Friday, Mar. 4.

State troopers, along with the FBI, searched Grandados-Sorto’s home and found the child on Monday, Mar. 14. Grandados-Sorto was arrested on the scene after coming home shortly after.

The investigation is ongoing.
